Antique Basket DIY Projects for Spring
Learn how to create farmhouse style home decor with these antique basket DIY projects. Use your favorite paper, stamps, and transfers.

How do I turn my antique baskets into beautiful home decor?
Here are 2 easy Antique Basket DIY projects to try today.
- Decoupage the wooden lid of a picnic basket or pie basket with Mod Podge. Use your favorite poster, wrapping paper, cardstock, or napkin. Today I use the Cavallini Paper Co. Posters and matte mod podge.
- Paint the lid and add any artistic elements that suit your style. I use Dixie Belle chalk and silk paints and a mixture of the Iron Orchid Designs stamps and transfers. This created French country styled baskets perfect for the Spring season.

How To Decoupage
Decoupage is the art of decorating an object using glue and paper or any decorative element. It is such an easy way to completely transform a piece from bland to beautiful. My biggest tip is to use a THIN coat of mod podge when working with any kind of paper. This helps prevent the paper from bubbling. I like to lightly distress the edges when it’s completely dry for a true antique finish. Get creative and have fun with the materials you choose for your Antique Basket DIY Projects.
